Teachers- Don't Pour Liquid Into a Closed Container

Today the photo ones were eager to take photos. They've waited for weeks. They couldn't listen to 10 more words of instruction. That's fine.

But don't think it went smoothly. They're dissatisfied. Upset. Their photos are blurry, like this example. The stage has been set.

Tomorrow I will ask "Are all your photos great? No? What's wrong?" Them- "They're blurry!" (Some don't even notice that). Me, "If you can listen for ten minutes, I will solve the problem of blurry photos FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE." Them - "okay." Then I tell them. Then they say "Why didn't you tell us this yesterday?" Me- ""would you have listened?" Them- "No." Me- "Exactly."

Teaching is like sales. Create a need, then fill it. It's the difference between pouring liquid into an open container, or a closed one.

They will be learning this.
